417 LOW DENSITY FARING FILLER

Descriptions:
A low-density phenolic microballoon-based filler used to make fairing putties that are easy to sand or carve. When added to epoxy resin, WEST SYSTEM 417 filler is a thick low density compound. Use WEST SYSTEM 417 to extend resin, to reduce weight, shrinkage and sanding. The addition of a small percentage of WEST SYSTEM 406 will reduce resin drainage and assist spreading properties. Various resin systems may react differently, so experiment before proceeding to large projects. WEST SYSTEM 417 is reasonably strong on a strength-to-weight basis. Also cures to a dark red/brown color – popular for matching to wood.
